Ellerman "Welcome the Coward" (independent) - Fans of modern hard rock will appreciate the heavy grooves exhibited by Ellerman on the quartet's latest CD, "Welcome the Coward." "False Disguise" and "Nosferatu" showcase vocalist Ryan Rainbolt, who frequently alternates between melodic singing and full-on screaming. The quartet's aggressive approach shares much in common with fellow Southern California based metal/hardcore hybrid outfits such as Thrice and Death by Stereo. Ellerman will open for Death by Stereo and Love Equals Death at 8 p.m. Aug. 31 at the Galaxy Concert Theatre, 3503 S. Harbor Blvd., Santa Ana.
